Cragar rim advise

OK guys I will admit I am a rank amateur at this.

Next week I should be getting my car back from the shop. It hasn't been on the road in 5 years.

Anyway my next project is old school Crager rims. I 've been looking on line mostly Summit racing and rims come in something like 15x7 or 15x8. assuming that is the width, how do I know which one to go with? Also do I want wider in the back or just go with same all the way around?

Any ideas will be welcome.

THANKS

My 83 has 15 X 8 Mag rims. I like the 8" so I can run a wider tire. I'm running 15 X 8" Aluminum Rims with 3.5" BS on the front and 4.5" BS on the rear with excellent clearance with steelteck brakes on the front. Less back spacing on the rear gives the car a boy-racer look.

As I recall, the old school Cragar SS wheels don't offer a choice on BS. I had 15x8's on my old Mustang, and I think they had 4.25" BS. They barely cleared my calipers on my 67. I'm sure someone has the max listed here for the front. I'm sure you could run 15x7's in the front and 15x8's in the rear, but I'd make sure about the clearance on the 8" wide in the front before you try it, unless you want to use spacers.

I do love the old Cragar's, but the 14 and 15" wheels only come in a uni-lug just like they were back in the day.

I did a Google search and found one Avanti with Cragar's on it. Looks to me like 15x7's on the front and 15x8's on the rear, in case you want to picture how your car would look. I would drop the whitewalls, but that's just me....

Thanks guys, I think I know what I'll do. 15x7 in the front and 15X 8 in the rear . no whitewalls.

Warren I have a question, it seems your Avanti was the next car built after mine . What is your interior like mine is ,tan leather trim with a beige plaid cloth. looks awful, also on the door panels yuk. but I'll live with it for a while.

MIne has been redone, but it was similar. I now have a white and gray combo on my seats with black carpets and it looks pretty good. I'll send you a picture sometime!
