A few months ago, I purchased a 1963 parts car. It of course has round headlights (I have a 1964). I believe the covers are glass. Does any one know how I can tell for sure? They are heavy and sound like glass when 'thunked'. The markings say 63RQS. Additionally, there is a marking of a circle with two triangles, one inverted over the other. I can't use them and plan to put them on e-bay so they can get to someone who needs them. I want to make sure that I list them correctly.

Thanks

I'm not sure of the markings but your description sounds like glass. If you compared glass to reproduction acrylic you could tell the difference immediately. Glass covers are rather thick for strength...the plastic are not. I don't believe any reproduction lenses I've seen have any markings at all.

Glass covers for round eye Avantis are quite desirable.

Really, how hard would it be for someone to make new ones?

before putting them on EBay, offer them here, I've been looking for round H/L lenses, especially glass ones.for a long time. Plastic are available easily from vendors.
