The distinctive red instrument lighting was achieved in two ways.... 1) red light bulbs. (as Brad said).......&....... 2) the light tan paint Studebaker used on the inside of the Avanti instrument housings. That's how the Avanti's 'distinctive red glow lighting' was achieved!
