All original Studebaker R3 engines had serial numbers stamped on the blocks in the normal front location, and also at the rear of the block near the distributor..........True?

Lew thinks the answer here is true.....anyone else have any thoughts on this one?

Actually, on second thought, the B-number was stamped in the rear.

You know your R3's Lew...except for Avanti 63R-1025, (HRM car), which contains an early 299CI R3, modified at Paxton Products where they began with a stock R2...... It still carries the R2 (RS) engine serial number at the front of the block only.....Answer..FALSE!
