a/c blower motor 1980 Avanti ii

I would try to free it up.  Drill small holes (eighth inch, or less) in the bearing areas.  First put something in to help loosen the bearings (PB Blaster).  After you get it turning freely, oil the bearings through those holes.  It will probably be good for another ten years.

I decided that since removal of the motor required dash removal that I would try the 1/8 hole and pb blaster.

Drilled hole (after prayer) and started to insert pb hose, but noticed the previously stuck fan now rotated freely.

Turned on air, and motor worked fine. PTL!

I only meant for the use of a small amount of PB Blaster to be used to free up a seized part (shaft in a bushing/bearing).

This should be followed up by a  drop or two of very light oil (like sewing machine oil).

I appreciate the feedback from Rev Ken.  I was going to tell him that even though the motor is turning now, he should get a drop or two of light oil in the bearing/bushing.
